Rump Session: For the first time the QIPC 2011 will feature a "rump session". The rump session is intended to be an informal session in which participants give short presentations on recent results, work in progress, and other topics of interest to the QIPC community. This open microphone session is to stimulate a discussion of the future of quantum information processing and communication. The presentations will be embedded into a relaxed atmosphere including complementary food and drinks being served during the whole session. In order to contribute to this spirit, non-technical and humorous contributions are highly encouraged. Please submit your contribution to the session chairs at suggestions@qipc2011.ethz.ch. More information can be found here.

Conference Dinner: The main conference social event will take place at the well known Zurich museum of modern art Kunsthaus. Following a visit to the exhibitions and a reception, a dinner will be served. To allow as many conference participants as possible to take part in this event, please state during registration, if you will participate in the dinner or not. Places for the dinner that free up will be given to those conference participants who have not yet secured a place for the conference dinner. More information on this event can be found here.
