Registration for the QIPC 2011 is open.
To register carefully read the information on this page and then click on the link at the bottom of the page.
Please note that previous QIPC conferences at Rome and Barcelona attracted more than 300 participants. QIPC 2011 is expected to draw a similar number of scientists that may approach capacity limits of the conference venue or special events venues such as the conference dinner. Therefore we advise you to register early. Only timely registration and payment will secure your participation in the conference.
We also advise you to book your accommodation in Zurich early, as Zurich is a very popular tourist and business destination. You may want to take advantage of the special rates available at selected hotels. For more information consult the accommodation section of this web site.
Please note that the conference is financially supported by the EU Coordination Action QUIE2T (Quantum Information Entanglement-Enabled Technologies) the European Integrated Projects AQUTE, QESSENCE and SOLID, the NCCR QSIT and ETH Zurich.
The registration fee is
- 400 CHF for registration and payement until May 15
- 500 CHF for registration after July 15 (if space remains, and not including the conference dinner)
Registration may close early when full capacity is reached. Therefore you are advised to register as soon as possible.
The registration fee covers
- all oral and poster sessions of the conference
- lunches and coffee breaks during the conference
- the welcome reception
- the conference dinner (registration after July 15 does not include the conference dinner)
- a 5-day pass for public transport in Zurich (ZVV - zone 10)
Abstract submission
Please submit your abstract after having completed the registration process but no later than May 15. Abstracts can only be considered for inclusion in the program once the registration fee of the submitting author has been received.
Student Support
The conference will support student participation through partial reimbursement of the registration fee to student attendees presenting a poster or a talk. A significant number of invited speakers have donated their travel allowance towards financial support of student attendance. Students will receive the reimbursement during on-site registration on the first day of the conference. Therefore please bring a confirmation of student status.
QIPC 2011 school
Early stage PhD students registered to attend the QIPC 2011 conference at ETH Zurich are encouraged to attend the QIPC 2011 School which will provide an introductory course on quantum information processing and communication. The school will be held before the conference on top of a 3000 m high mountain in the Swiss Alps and start on Friday, September 2, 2011 in the late afternoon and end on Sunday, September 4, 2011 after lunch. It consists of a series of 90 minute lectures by invited lecturers who are experts in the field of Quantum Information Science. The lectures will be focused on students in the early stages of their PhD. A detailed program is published on the web site.
The registration fee for the QIPC 2011 school is 200 CHF, covering accommodation for two nights, all meals and coffee breaks during the school and the cable car ride to and from Berghaus Diavolezza. The total number of participants is limited to 50 by the space available at the lecture hall.
Access to registration web site.Registration is provided through a web site hosted at ETH Zurich and consists of two steps:
1. First, you will need to get an account (login) at this web site by providing your contact information and using your email address as a login. The website will provide you with a password by email.
2. After you have logged in, you may choose between the different registration options and are then asked to pay online using a major credit card. Important: click close at the end of the registration process. Through this web site you may also submit your abstract. You may return to the web site and change your abstract by logging in with the provided password and resubmitting until the registration deadline.
